inexah Wellness: My Purpose
Early in my adult years, I experienced multiple physical, mental, emotional and energetic disruptions, varying from mild discomfort to mental overwelm, severe digestive issues, and my skin almost completely covered in a rash. After years of seeking for solutions to my health and wellness concerns outside of myself, going from conventional medical doctors to a naturopathic doctor and multiple trainers or wellness providers, while spending more than our family could afford, only a portion of my many symptoms were managed. Eventually, a few months with a health coach, who encouraged me to question my beliefs about how I valued my personal wellbeing, and I realized the current ideas of “health care” and “self care” were not the answers for me to access the thriving life of joy I believe is the right of every human.
From there, I began a decades-long journey of research and exploration and inward reflection to honor and learn how to meet my body’s unique needs and which practices and lifestyle habits most resonated with me and could be sustained. This continues to be an on-going experiment as I navigate the seasons of life, yet as I learn to offer myself grace, and focus on the practices which bring me the most joy, I have a strength I wouldn’t have had from waiting for someone else to “fix” me. Choosing the food, movement, rest, relationships and energetic practices that I prefer and enjoy to nourish myself led me to the commitment of building community in order to share in collective healing with others.
At the same time, I have deep gratitude for the care providers who have unquestioningly supported my personal choices and offered timely guidance to enhance my health and wellbeing. Beyone that first health coach who helped me get excited about exploring my access to personal power, I’ve experienced an acupunturist, a functional medicine provider, a Healing Solutions provider, and a few others who have been willing to collaborate with me to meet my wellbeing needs and interests. I am committed to paying forward the same opportunities to others, individually and within community.
My purpose is to serve others through love, utilizing the skills and gifts I’ve received, to collaborate with the internal wisdom of each individual, while creating spaces to share in collective healing and thriving.
